Azure Cloud Engineer / DevOps Engineer
If you're passionate about Azure, IaC, DevOps, and want to help build the backbone of a next-gen PaaS platform – reach out!
About the Role
We are building a global Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution on Microsoft Azure, using a modern microservice-based architecture and Azure Container Apps (ACA).
Our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team owns and operates the shared Azure platform that enables our development teams to deliver secure, observable, and scalable software products worldwide.
Our ambition is to establish world-class operations with fully automated CI/CD pipelines (Bicep + Azure DevOps), and to deliver reusable platform capabilities ("Towers") – such as Observability, Security, Networking, CI/CD, and Automation – as managed services to our dev teams.
The SRE team is responsible for:
- Central and shared infrastructure in Azure
- Platform architecture and governance
- Operational excellence: SLAs/OLAs, cost control, compliance, performance, reliability
- Support and operations for global production environments (follow-the-sun model)
We follow proven cloud design patterns and frameworks:
Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), Enterprise Scale, Well-Architected Framework (WAF) – with strong focus on Zero Trust, Hub & Spoke, RBAC, and continuous improvement.
You will join as an Azure Cloud Engineer, working closely with our Cloud Architect / Product Owner and global team. You'll help build the foundation of our platform, support developers, and contribute to upskilling team members. The SRE team is part of R&D and works agile – using Scrum, PI Planning, Sprints and Kanban in Azure DevOps.
We actively promote a "You Build It, You Run It" culture, where dev teams own their services – supported by CloudOps through robust and standardized Towers.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep and Azure DevOps
- Operate and evolve central Azure services: networking, security, identity, cost control, monitoring, policy
- Develop and maintain observability stacks: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, App Insights
- Drive automation across deployment, scaling, compliance, and incident response
- Support dev teams in adopting platform capabilities (Towers) and best practices
- Define and maintain platform SLAs/OLAs, security baselines, and performance objectives
- Mentor junior engineers in Azure, IaC, and DevOps ways of working
What We’re Looking For
- Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and IaC (Bicep, ARM, Terraform)
- Strong background in CI/CD using Azure DevOps or similar tools and background in SRE/DevOps/platform teams, ideally in a SaaS/PaaS context
- Deep understanding of Azure services: networking, RBAC, identity, policy, security
- Experience with containerized workloads (ACA, AKS, Docker)
- Familiarity with monitoring/logging pipelines and alerting strategies
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash or Python
- Good communication skills in English (Swedish is a bonus)
- Knowledge of CAF, WAF, DevSecOps and FinOps best practices
Relevant certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-305) are a plus.
What We Offer
- A hands-on and strategic role in shaping our global Azure platform
- Clear technical ownership and real architectural impact
- Close collaboration with product, engineering, and cloud leaders
- Learning & development opportunities – training, mentorship, certification
